It is with great sadness the family wishes to announce the sudden and unexpected death of Gary Frederick Kilcollins on January 21, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton.

Gary was born on June 11, 1940, the son of Harley and Pauline (Clendening) Kilcollins. After the separation of his parents when he was 6 years of age, he was raised by his father, Harley, and his special step-mom, Winnifred, who loved him dearly. Gary was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

At the age of seventeen, Gary joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served from 1957-1960 as an aircraft mechanic. Early in life he lived in Saint John where he worked as a meat cutter at Sobeys for several years, eventually moving back to Bath in 1966 to work with his Uncle, Fred Kilcollins, at Kilcollins Funeral Home and Ambulance Service. In 1968 he received his Embalmer's Diploma and in 1975 bought the business from his uncle to establish Kilcollins Funeral Home in Bath and later a second funeral home in Florenceville. Gary retired from the business in 2000 and eventually moved to Woodstock to enjoy the remainder of his retirement years. He was an active member in many things, such as Shiners, Masonic Lodge and the Anavets branch of the Canadian Legion. He will be greatly missed by many.

Gary is survived by three sons, Thomas Jeffrey (Tracy) of Carleton Place, ON, Rodney Troy (Tia) of Grand Falls, NB, and Gary Frederick Jr. (Heidi) of Bath, NB; one Daughter, Kelley Jo Nykolyn (Wesley) of Brantford, ON; five Grandchildren, Shelbi and Sierra Kilcollins of Carleton Place,ON, Chandler and Chanelle Kilcollins of Grand Falls, NB and Maksym (Maks) Nykolyn of Brantford, ON; two Sisters, Dianne Elliott (Charles)of Brantford, ON and Cathy Drost (Raymond) of Wicklow, NB; three Brothers, Calvin (Brenda) Kilcollins of Hants Port, NS, David Campbell(Nancy) of Hartland, NB and Robert Campbell(Donna) of Welsford, NB; and his closest and special companion, Doreena Culbert of Woodstock, NB as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Ronald and one brother-in-law, Charles Elliott.

Visitation will be held from L.R.Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with a Masonic Serivce being held at 6:30 pm. A funeral service will be held from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Andy DeRier and Father Bill Brennan officiating. A Legion Tribute will be held directly following the funeral service. Interment will be in the Wicklow Cemetery.
