Beverly L. Reid
1939-2024
Beverly always talked about a career in farming but became an educator and was a principal for decades. He served as Vice Principal of Centreville Regional High school and then later as Principal of Centerville Intermediate School, until finishing up his career in Bath, where he taught grade 3. After 35 years of being an educator, he enjoyed more than three decades of retirement, during which he had the chance to travel with his loving wife, Margaret, and enjoy their golden years together until she passed away six years ago.
Beverly had many passions in life. He loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He served as a deacon in the Tracy Mills United Baptist Church for many years. Having taught so many people in Carleton County, he made a huge impact over the course of his life. He was also bitten by the golf bug over 40 years ago. He enjoyed playing against other people, but most of all, he enjoyed playing against himself - always trying to be better than his last 18 round.
Beverly was survived by two children, Martha Dowling (Bill) and Adam Reid (Jina); five grandchildren, Matthew Dowling (Erin), William Dowling, Megan Aiken (Mat), Hannah Reid, and Hailey Reid; two great grandchildren, Bennett Dowling and Margaret Dowling; and one sister Jeanne Culberson (Harold), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beverly knew the gift of salvation and was lovingly welcomed home by the open arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Visitation and a funeral service will be held at a later date and will be announced at that time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tracy Mills United Baptist Church or the Upper Knoxford United Baptist Church. L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors are entrusted with the arrangements.
