R. Franklin Green
The death of R. Franklin Green of Summerfield occurred on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by loving family. Franklin was born February 27, 1935 in Knoxford and was the son of the late Lee and Hazel (Longstaff) Green. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Leslie, Oulton and Gideon Green; 1 nephew, Billy Bloomfield.

In 1955 Franklin attended Teachers College for a 2 yr program in Industrial Arts in Moncton. He earned a Bachelor Degree in Trade from the University of Moncton, in 1976 and his B. Ed in 1980.

He told many stories of his early days of teaching in Canterbury, Centreville, Sackville, Rothesay and Saint John. Part time he taught Driver’s Ed and volunteered with the school clubs. He returned to teach in Centreville and bought his home in 1974. In 1978 he taught in Carleton North until he retired. He loved to hear from his former students.

Franklin enjoyed conversation until the end. We’ll miss his stories and laughter and feel blessed to have known him well.

Franklin is survived by his siblings, Leah Carlisle, Thelma Bloomfield and Wallace Green (Darlene); sister in law, Dot Green; nieces and nephews, Russell Green, Nilah Purdy, Dalton Harrisgreen, Leonard Green, Marlene Sipprell, Robert Green, Vickie Nicholson, Rosanne Hutchison, Peter Carlisle, Michael Carlisle, Laurie Rodger, Linda Coppens, Ruth Ann Rodger, Nathan Green, Adam Green and Matthew Green as well as several great nieces and great nephews that loved him very much.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from12-2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm. Pastor Mildred Nicholson will officiate. The interment will be in the Pomphrey Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the Pomphrey Cemetery or the Summerfield Cemetery would be appreciated
