Eva Skaarup
1930-2022
The death of Eva Skaarup (Givskud) occurred on December 12, 2022 at
her home in River de Chute, NB. Born in Grand Falls, NB, on July 13,
1930 , she was predeceased by her husband, Frederik C. Skaarup, whom
she married October 30, 1947. Eva work in St John NB, Edmundston NB,
before she was married. Following marriage, she worked as a farmer's
wife, and a mother, and later years worked with Red Cross as
homemaker until retirement. Throughout her life, Eva was a Sunday
School teacher, a Youth Leader, a member of Bairdsville Women’s
Institute.
Eva is survived by her children, Ruth Sawler of Hartland, NB, Else (Harvey) MacLauchlan of Cibolo, Texas, Hellen (Monty) Watson, Laura (Kempton) Kilcollins, Mary (Bryan) Parker, all of Bairdsville, NB, Jenny Skaarup of River de Chute, Greta (Garry) Kilcollins of Bairdsville, NB, Frederik (Darlene) Skaarup, John (Jennifer) Skaarup both of River de Chute, NB; One sister, Ada Givskud of Fredericton, NB; Sister in Laws, Beatrice (Aage) Skaarup of Charleston, NB and Vicky (Mogens) Givskud of Drummond, NB; 28 Grandchildren, Karen, Robbie, Marilyn, Elayne, Malcolm, Rebekah, Mark, Jeannie, Twila, Joanne, Clinton, Neatsie, Beth, Brian, Travis, Scott, Ethan, Billy, Glendon, Wendy, Mike, Sara, Sandi, Jordan, Josh, Kayla, Karsten, and Shaylyn; 53 Great Grandchildren; 6 Great, Great Grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Eva was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Elisabeth (Treshov-Schade) Givskud; Daughter, Karen; Son, David; Grandson, Kenny; Brothers, Frederick (Joan), Johan (Gaetane), Mogens; Brother in Laws, Harold, Aage, Carl (Phyllis).
Visitation will be held from Calvary Tabernacle, 12 Legion Street Perth-Andover, NB on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 10:30am - 1:30 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Rev. D. T. Ferrell will be officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in New Denmark, NB.
