G. Evans MacDonald

The death of Gilbert "Evans" MacDonald of Centreville occurred on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the River View Manor, Bath. Born July 22, 1922, in Kilburn, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Pearl (Grant) MacDonald. Evans was also predeceased by his 3 wives, Kathleen, Joanne and Irene; son in law, Tom DeMerchant; 10 siblings, Amanda, Freda, Kenneth, Fern, Phyllis, Gordon, Muriel, Fred, Jean and Malcolm.

Evans is survived by his 5 children, Terry MacDonald (Ruth), Larry MacDonald (Patricia), Charles MacDonald (Peggy), Cindy DeMerchant and Shawn York (Mitchell); 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 step children, Norma Hitchcock (Ronald), Linda DeMerchant (Paul), Gail McDougall, Barbara Kierstead (Raymond) and Patricia Bennett (David) as well as their families; 2 brothers in law, Clarence Hunter and Eldon Lewis; 2 sisters in law, Ferne Rideout and Valerie Budrow as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Evans was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4-8 pm. Respecting Covid - 19 regulations, facial masks must be worn. A Private family funeral will be held from the L.R. Giberson Chapel, Rev. Andy DeRier will officiate. For those who wish, the funeral will be live streamed on the L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, Facebook page on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm. The interment will be in the Lower Knoxford Cemetery at a later date.
